mamas blooming relaxing herbal bath bombs

Mamas Blooming customers have been begging me for quite some time for my bath bomb recipe. These really are the bomb! I don’t get to use them as often as I would like, but when I do I immediately feel relaxed and my body feels better.

When I was selling bath bombs I sold several different variations of lavender, green tea lemon, sleepy time, tangerine, and breathe easy. This recipe is so simple to make and you can even come up with your own herbal and scent variations.

Not only do these bath bombs smell wonderful they also are beneficial for the skin and body.

Epsom Salts break down into magnesium in the water and can help relax stiff muscles and joints and relieve aches. Most people are deficient in magnesium and soaking in an Epsom salt bath can increase magnesium levels. Magnesium in the body helps to eliminate toxins, provides muscle control, gives us energy, and helps with other bodily functions.

Baking soda in a bath can help to alleviate skin conditions, yeast, and detox the body.

Organic unrefined coconut oil softens and moisturizes the skin. Your skin will be silky smooth and no need for any lotion after you bath.

Organic herbs have many benefits for our skin, body, and health. Depending on what herbal variation you use will depend on the benefits.

Essential oils are used in the bath bombs for aromatherapy in your bath to help relax the mind, body and soul.

Basic Bath Bomb Herbal Recipe (makes 4 medium size bath bombs)

You will need a large bowl, spoon for mixing, measuring spoons and cup, Epsom salts, baking soda, organic unrefined coconut oil, citric acid , herbs, essential oils, and bath bomb molds

-1 cup Baking Soda

-½ cup Epsom Salt

-½ cup Citric Acid

-2 tablespoons Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil

-3 teaspoons water

-1 tablespoon Organic Lavender Buds (grounded)

-10 drops of Organic Lavender Essential Oil Mix all dry ingredients first. Next, add the grounded lavender buds. I used a coffee grinder to grind my herbs. Melt the coconut oil and then add your essential oil drops and water. Stir well and you are ready to put the mixture into your bath bomb molds. I like to fold a towel and place on top of a cookie sheet for extra cushion. On top of the towel I use parchment paper. You will want your bath bombs to stay in the molds for about five minutes before removing them. This can be tricky and may take some practice, but you will get the hang of it.

Recipe Variations

Sleepy Time: Grounded organic chamomile, lavender buds, vetiver essential oil, roman chamomile essential oil, and organic lavender essential oil

Green Tea Lemon: Grounded organic green tea leaves and organic lemon essential oil

Tangerine: Tangerine peeling, tangerine juice instead of water, organic sweet orange essential oil or tangerine essential oil

Breathe Easy: You can use a variation of essential oils such as organic rosemary, organic eucalyptus, organic cedarwood, fir needle, organic lavender, and organic peppermint. You would not want to use all of these, but a safe combination would be fine.

These are the bath bombs I have made and sold to customers in the past and my customers love them! These would be wonderful to give as a gift or even keep them for yourself. Feel free to be creative and make your own scents and combinations. You never know Mamas Blooming may even have these available again to purchase!
